Privacy Policy

A clear account of what AURA processes, why it is used, and the choices available to you.

Last updated and effective: July 11, 2026

In brief: AURA does not require an account, record microphone audio, access HealthKit, or sell personal information. Listening preferences remain on your device. We use limited app analytics to understand performance and improve the product, and Apple processes App Store purchases.

1. Scope and controller

DualRise Studio (“DualRise,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) provides the AURA Sleep: Binaural Beats iOS application (“AURA” or the “App”) and this website. This policy applies to information processed through the App, our support communications, and these pages.

2. Information we process

Information stored on your device

AURA stores preferences and session state locally, such as selected sound spaces, mixes, timer settings, onboarding choices, notification settings, playback state, and AURA Pro entitlement status. This information supports core app functions and is not uploaded to DualRise as listening history.

Limited product analytics

We may process limited, pseudonymous technical and usage information—such as app and device context, general region, feature interactions, session performance, and purchase-flow status—to maintain AURA, understand aggregate use, and improve the experience.

We do not intentionally collect your name, email address, audio content, exact GPS location, advertising identifier (IDFA), contacts, photos, HealthKit data, or medical information through product analytics. The random analytics identifier is not an AURA account and is not intended to identify you directly.

Purchases

Apple processes purchases, subscription billing, renewal, refunds, and payment credentials. AURA receives StoreKit transaction and entitlement information needed to unlock AURA Pro, such as product identifier, transaction verification, subscription status, expiration, and revocation status. We do not receive your full payment-card details.

Support and website information

If you email us, we receive the information you choose to provide, such as your email address, message, screenshots, device details, and diagnostic context. Our static website may receive routine hosting and security logs from GitHub Pages and related infrastructure, such as IP address, browser, requested page, and timestamp.

3. How and why we use information

  • Provide playback, saved settings, timers, notifications, and subscription access.
  • Verify purchases, restore entitlements, and prevent transaction errors.
  • Measure reliability, adoption, and product journeys; diagnose issues; and improve AURA.
  • Respond to support, safety, privacy, and legal requests.
  • Protect the App and comply with applicable law.

Where required, our legal bases may include performance of a contract, legitimate interests in operating and improving AURA, consent, and compliance with legal obligations.

4. When information is shared

We do not sell personal information and do not use AURA data for cross-app advertising. We may disclose limited information to:

  • Apple: App distribution, StoreKit purchases, subscription management, refunds, and Apple-provided diagnostics or analytics.
  • Analytics and infrastructure providers: Limited product measurement, delivery, reliability, and security services described above.
  • GitHub Pages and internet infrastructure providers: Website hosting, delivery, and security.
  • Professional advisers or authorities: When reasonably necessary to protect rights, safety, and security or comply with law.
  • A successor: In connection with a merger, financing, acquisition, or sale, subject to appropriate safeguards.

These providers process information under their own terms and privacy commitments. Information may be processed in the United States or other countries where they operate.

5. Your choices and controls

  • Local app data: Change settings in AURA or delete the App to remove its locally stored data. iOS or device backups may retain data according to your Apple settings.
  • Notifications: Change permission in iOS Settings at any time.
  • Subscriptions: View or cancel in iOS Settings → Apple Account → Subscriptions. Cancellation stops future renewal but does not normally refund the current period.
  • Analytics request: Contact us to ask about access or deletion. Include the analytics identifier if AURA displays one in a future diagnostic screen; without it, we may be unable to connect a random identifier to your request.
  • Support email: You may request deletion of your support correspondence, subject to legal and operational retention needs.

6. Retention and security

Local preferences remain until changed, reset, or the App is deleted. Analytics and support information are retained only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes above, dispute resolution, security, and legal compliance, then deleted or aggregated. Exact periods can vary by record and provider configuration.

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, including iOS sandboxing and encrypted network transport. No storage or transmission system is completely secure.

7. Children

AURA is not directed to children under 13, or the higher minimum age required in their jurisdiction. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children below that age. A parent or guardian who believes a child provided information may contact us for deletion.

8. Regional privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or receive a copy of certain personal information, withdraw consent, or appeal a decision. You may also complain to your local privacy regulator. We will verify and respond to requests as required by applicable law and will not discriminate for exercising a privacy right.

California notice

We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. Categories we may process include identifiers, internet or electronic activity, device information, commercial/transaction information, and support correspondence, for the business purposes described in this policy.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as AURA or legal requirements change. The date above shows when the current version became effective. Material changes may also be communicated in the App where appropriate.
